- Fall 07 timetable with last-like semester (Fall 06) student course requests
- input data [pu-sectll-fal07],
example solution of batch sectioning [pu-sectll-fal07-s]
-
Course requests are weighted so that each course is filled up to the projected limit.
For instance, if there are 20 last-like students requesting a course that is projected
for 30 students, each request is weighted by 1.5 (i.e., each student takes 1.5 space of
each section in which he/she is enrolled).
-
The provided solution file can be also used for online sectioning tests since it
contains pre-computed expected/held space for each class.
- Fall 07 timetable with actuall (Fall 07) student course requests
- input data [pu-sect-fal07],
example solution of batch sectioning [pu-sect-fal07-s]
-
The provided input data file can be also used for online sectioning tests since it
contains pre-computed expected/held space for each class based on the last-like solution pu-sectll-fal07-s.
Since the student data were collected by the current legacy system, we have no alternative requests, free time requests, or reservations.
Invalid course requests (i.e., cases when student requested courses that he/she cannot attend together) were eliminated.
Example solutions of batch sectioning refer to solutions computed by our
using
configuration. For more
